Short Track Thank You
Feb 26th, 2010 at 2:37pm

Wow, what a tough Winter Short Track Series!  It took alot of hard work and some dedicated volunteers to pull it off but we were determined not to let the weather defeat us.  We need to toss out a couple shout outs of appreciation for the 2010 Winter Short Track Series.

Our sponsors:  A big thanks goes out to East Blvd Bar and Grill and Heartwood Tree Service for stepping up again to support the series. We could not organize the series without the support of our title sponsors.   Next time you are in the Dilworth area, stop by East Blvd Bar and Grill for cold beer or some great food. If you need tree work completed around the house or your office, Patrick George and the crew from Heartwood Tree Service can definitely take care of your tree problems.

Our event volunteers: A couple individuals were out at every event working hard in the cold rainy weather: Paul Bellin, Edith Higgins, Leah Mitcham, Chris and Isaiah Muddiman and Santana Wilkinson.  Also, Edith led the crew of Dirt Divas that kept the hot chocolate flowing, the soup warm and helped to score all of the races.  The mud added an extra element scoring each of the races. We had lots of new ladies out helping this year and they really stepped up to make the event a super success.  Scoring the events can be stressful, especially during the large categories.
Thank you Dirt Divas for the support!!

Last but definitely not least, to everyone who came out and supported the series a
big Thank You
!  We really enjoy hosting the Winter Short Track Series as it seems to really bring together the mountain bike community.  With the
nasty winter weather we’ve been having, it was a great excuse to get outside during the days you may have normally been on the couch.

Cheers,
Neal
