George Poston Park

Lowell, NC – From Charlotte take I-85 South to McAdenville Rd. Exit 23. Turn right at light onto McAdenville Rd. Turn right at next light onto Main St. Follow for about 2 miles to entrance on left. You will pass the trail head on your way to the parking lot.

There is a temporary entrance to the trail at Poston Park.  The trail is not completely open due to lake construction but there is approximately 6 miles of the trail currently open.  How to get onto the trail @ Poston:  Go to the back parking lot – to the left of the soccer fields ride down the hill by the blue trash dumpster and head down the powerline.  Not far down you will see a cut off to the right and there will be an arrow pointing to the right on the power pole right there.  Take that right (there’s little pond down there).  Right before a water ditch you will see where traffic goes to the left (the kudzu will be trampled down). Follow that trail and it will lead you around the left side of that pond and into the woods.  From there follow the arrows, you will be spit back out where you started when the ride is over!  Questions, call Parks & Recreation at 704-922-2160.
