24 Hours of Booty

Charlotte is home to the original 24 Hours of Booty, the nation’s first 24-hour charity road cycling ride. 24 Hours of Booty raises millions of dollars for cancer causes and is the official 24-hour ride of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. 24 Hours of Booty occurs each summer during the last weekend in July. Thousand of cycling enthusiasts join forces, riding alone or on teams, to raise money for great causes. Project Angel

As a Dirt Diva, you know how good it feels to get a new bike. And you know the wonderful feeling of freedom and accomplishment that comes from riding. Not everyone does though.Project Angel is a Dirt Diva Initiative that gives Bikes to kids in the Charlotte Metro Area. Collectively, our donations purchase (a) bikes, pumps, and assorted gear for each kid. All donations are tax deductible.If you’d like to donate, please send donations to the P.O. Box listed below. Girl Scout Rides

The Divas especially enjoy promoting mountain biking to young girls and what better way than to team up with the Girl Scouts. Riding fits in well with their “Healthy Lifestyles” initiatives. Riding with the Divas has been a popular program choice the last few years and we always look forward to helping increase the girls’ self confidence and feeling of empowerment that comes from successfully riding obstacles encountered on the trails.

Trips for Kids

The Dirt Divas are very active in doing what they can for the community’s children. Trips For Kids (TFK) is an organization that assist children’s homes with bicycling activities. TFK exposes the children to cycling in the outdoors, building confidence, along with friendships. The Dirt Divas assist TFK a couple times a year by sponsoring a clinic to teach young cyclists to ride using skills for mountain bike trails. Lunch and discussions of what was learned from the day occurs after the Dirt Divas sponsored rides. The TFK rides are a growing experience of wonderful friendships for the Dirt Divas and the children of TFK.For more information: http://www.tripsforkidscharlotte.org

Trailwork

The Divas regularly team up with the Tarheel Trailblazers, PASA, REI and other Bicycle Shop sponsors to assist with area trail building and maintenance. No experience is necessary as experienced crew leaders are always on hand to guide our efforts. Tools are provided so all that is needed are sturdy boots or shoes, work gloves, water and a snack. It is a rewarding experience that provides an opportunity to give back to the local community while meeting new friends. The trail work season typically runs through the winter months Nov. – Mar.
